6th Grade Visual Art

We follow a TAB/choice-based model which means once we learn the concepts necessary for making successful artwork, students are free to create whatever art they want while working toward good craftsmanship and concept development.

Demonstrate project management by setting personal project goals and reflecting on the art making process.

Make secondary and tertiary color schemes

Make a variety of brush strokes using paint

Create different types of lines using digital media

Demonstrate the printmaking process using monoprint and collagraph

Explore techniques using tempera paint

Create a relief art by joining two or more surfaces

7th Grade

Design Concepts (Elements)

Demonstrate practice and craftsmanship in colored pencils, charcoal, ink, sculpture media (paper engineering and clay), printmaking (relief), paint media (watercolor), and collage.

Demonstrate project management by setting personal project goals and reflecting on the art making process.

Fiber Arts

7th/8th Grade

Demonstrate practice and craftsmanship in batik, weaving, printmaking (screen and relief block printing), repurposing clothing, dying, fabric collage, embroidery, image transfer, yarn painting, croche, macrame, needle felting, soft sculptures, and more over a two year period.
