In Art, we have been learning to draw our portraits.
We then used our portraits to become Maia, the main character in our class reader- ‘Journey to the River Sea’.
We used words to describe her character and personality and wrote them, tracing the outline of our faces.
Following on from our artwork, we imagined that we were Maia travelling up the Amazon to meet her distant relatives for the first time.
We imagined that we were Maia sitting on the boat and wrote creatively about how she felt at this point in the story and what she could see, hear and smell.
We are enjoying the story and our learning about South America.
