“WE PLANT THE SEEDS THAT ONE DAY WILL GROW; WE WATER SEEDS ALREADY PLANTED, KNOWING THAT THEY HOLD FUTURE PROMISE.” - OSCAR ROMERO

In the midst of a collective feeling of angst, uncertainty and some rage with the state of our world - numerous wars, banning of books, repealing of reproductive rights, lack of safety for young Black and Brown youth - we take a moment to celebrate our grantee partners. They never give up, even when the odds are stacked deeply against them as individuals, their communities, and the work that they do.

We believe that we can collectively create the future that we seek in little ways and in big ways. A future where all people live in their full dignity and on a planet that is well protected. The grantees that we partner with make us believe even more deeply in the future that is now and beyond. Crossroads Fund continues to be a public foundation and a movement funder that raises money for social, racial and economic justice. In addition, we host numerous programs and collaboratives.

We invite you to explore our annual report and get inspired by the depth and breadth of organizing work happening in Chicago. We are proud to announce that in Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) we collectively moved a record breaking $4.3 million to 206 organizations!

CROSSROADS FUND 2022 GRANTEES

For over 40 years Crossroads Fund has served as an anchor organization for movement building across the city by moving money to grassroots organizers working at the intersections of racial, social, and economic justice in Chicago.

Since day one, we have been committed to using a community grantmaking model to fund bold organizing that is led by people directly impacted by the issues, strategies, and campaigns that get to the root cause of injustice.

In Fiscal Year 2022, Crossroads Fund granted $4.3 million to 206 organizations in the Chicago area, the highest amount we have redistributed in a single fiscal year. This total amount includes our grantmaking and pooled funds with foundation partners and individual donors. Every dollar we raise and redistribute requires many people working in different ways and we hope you will be able to share the good news with your networks. Together, we are participating in a broader movement to support grassroots organizing and activism.
