Concept
The overall concept of the long-term project is about emotions. The topic I choose for this month is find yourself. Finding yourself is extremely difficult and takes some people their entire life to feel comfortable with themselves. I believe that finding comfort in yourself makes life more wonderful. In this project I want to show people that although it may take a life time, spreading your wings and finding yourself is worth it. There are many downs in life but if you don't fall a few times, how are you ever expected to fly.
Research
For this project I will be experimenting with a projector. I will be trying different wings and different colors to project onto me. I will also be messing with the texture of the wings to see if it makes the picture more interesting or distracting. I will be trying black and white pictures and will be trying colored pictures.
I will be using some of the posing and lighting techniques used in this projector photoshoot:

Idea
The idea for the project is to show people that discovering urself, not matter the age, is aa very important part of your like that everyone should experience. I want to use a projector for this project. I will use pictures of butterflies and have it projected on to my body expressing the idea of spreading you wings. It will represent finding yourself and growing.

Taking the Shots
Set up was the most time consuming. I had to use a projector and it took me a long time to figure out how to work it but once I got that I had to correctly set up the butterfly so its the size of my body and not to big. I tried multiple butterfly wings to see which would turn out the best. Then I got ready: did my hair, makeup, and outfit.
Editting
When I was editing I took my favorite pictures and started playing around with black and white, different colored settings, and set the lighting. Although the black and white was pretty I liked the colorful wings better because it expressed the idea I was going for more than the black and white one. The black and white wings had much more texture although it just wasn't the right one for this project.

Reflection
I love the results of my picture. I enjoyed experimenting with the project and trying something new. I think I will be using this again because the result turned out so well. I think my message was portrayed exactly how I wanted. I think the concept of learning to find yourself being expressed through the idea of spreading your wings got across to my audience. Overall, I loved how my project turned out.
