I WENT SWIMMING adventure in emmarentia - By spot Injozi

(read out loud in an excited, funny-pitched voice with a slight lisp)

So the whole thing started with my parents getting me and the Goldie all excited... after lunch they packed our stuff in the car: the blankie, leashes... and towels (when they pack towels that's usually something something... but it's been so long that I don't quite remember what...).

We've been taken for drives in the last while but we never really actually went anywhere. These days we go for walks from the house. It's cool. I get to run after the ball. That's fun!

We used to go to this other place though... this really beeeeg place... but we haven't been there in a long time. All of a sudden we stopped going there. Don't know what happened... wish I knew what I did wrong...

Anyway, so today, the parents were all excited (Mom starts talking in her baby voice, it makes me all jumpy when she does) and kept on talking about swimming... I think I remember swimming, but I'm kinda foggy on the details. It was a lot of fun. THAT I remember.

Guess what?!! After what seemed like a really long drive, we arrived back at this place that smelled quite familiar (I'm sure I smelled water and dry grass and definitely lots of other dogs)... but when we hopped out the car, our parents put me and the Goldie on our leashes. That got me a little worried because that's not really happened before...

We had to walk over some pavement, like the stuff that's in front of our house. I don't mind it but I really do prefer grass...

And then... FINALLY THERE IT WAS: a huge big park with loads and loads of grass. At first I didn't recognise it... we'd never come this way before... but then... it hit my nose: the place of lots of grass and WATER! Oh my gosh! I was soooo excited to see it that I started pulling on my leash, which I know I'm not supposed to do but hey... I just could not contain myself!

Check! The dam! The dam! It all started to come back to me! I used to swim here! A LOT! That's why they packed the towels! Oh my goodness, guys! I almost peed on my legs I was so excited!

And so I swam, and fetched sticks and swam some more!
I jumped around and in and out of the water!
And then I got water in my ears so I had to shake myself really hard to get it all out! Eish....

I was having so much fun and Dad and Mom threw the stick for me a lot. That was so nice because I had to jump into the water every time to fetch it.

You see, my Dad always throws the stick far, so I have to swim for a loooong time. That's so cool!

Swimming is quite exhausting though and my legs were going a bit funny because I hadn't done it in a while...

So I lay down and chewed on my stick... Dad wasn't looking, he was talking to some other people... so I chewed it A LOT!
Then Mom and I also played tug, of course I won every time!
And then I chewed some more on the stick... so much fun (eish... check the Goldie in the back there making a fool of himself...)
Sticks! So delicious! You don't believe me? Ptttth.... Seriously? Ha! You fool! You have no idea!
I laid in the sun... I love the sun!
We went past the fields where it always rustles in the grass... but I couldn't find the bugger that makes it so... still... (one day!)
And then we walked some more... I was hoping Dad would through the stick. But he didn't.
And then he DID!! So I swam even more! I remember now, I do love swimming!
Oh and then we came to the other field where the grass always rustles and Dad threw the stick so I had to jump, and jump, and jump so that my ears flew high like so... wait, let me show you:
you can see better from the front.... high like sooooooo!
Dad threw the stick some more so I went and jumped and jumped again... until I heard that rustling in the grass again.... oh my, it drives me batty...
Tadaa!
After all that excitement I had to go cool off in the water again... but I still asked for the stick and ran and swam and jumped. Of course.
I really do go a bit bonkers sometimes.... but hey! You only live once, right?! Or do you? Not sure. I'm a dog, what do I know... I know I love going bonkers in the water! Yep, yep, yep!

Eventually, they got me out of the water and we carried on walking...

Then Dad had to do some work on his little brick he always carries around with him...
and Mom made us sit for treats... the Goldie is always sooo eager... ugh...ptttth...
And then Mom tricked me into posing for another treat... that wasn't nice. She knows I don't like posing.... Why was Dad taking so long... maaaan....
You see... poor me... made to suffer such hardship... I don't even like treats in the park... not funny.
But I forgave Mom because we took an extra loop around the back of the park that I used to like so much... had forgotten it was there... pretty, hey?

I had so much fun I didn't notice the time go by... well, I really rarely do...

Back to the car we walked - I didn't even mind walking the last bit on the leash this time 'round. I was quite buggered from all that jumping... I really shouldn't let myself get so bonkers around the stick...

As I jumped in the car, the blankie felt really nice and soft and aaaaaa..... I really don't remember much after that....
