The Municipal electricity Utility Guides (MUGs) were put together by @WeThePlugTho to let people know what their city utility was charging them, why they are being charged that, and what programs their city utility offers. We have MUGs for 21 of the state's 52 municipal utilities.

Who controls our energy decisions?

The Municipal Utility Strategy Handbook (MUSH) is your community handbook to fair, well-informed, and affordable municipal electricity. Our electricity utilities impact our everyday lives in huge ways. In the South, one out of three of our neighbors struggles to pay their power bills month to month. Municipal utilities - also called munis - are electricity providers that are owned by the local city or county governments and controlled by municipal government bodies like city councils. There are 52 munis in Georgia. This handbook focuses on how community members can take action to make their electricity services fair, affordable and include community input.
