Dear Parent / Carer
We would like to encourage parents and guardians to be as involved with the school as possible. One of the ways to do this is via the development of a Parent Forum. The Parent Forum will be a partnership between parents and the school. It will be a valuable way to share ideas, views, concerns and make suggestions for improvement.
This forum will give those involved the opportunity to represent all parents/carers regarding decisions about our school and to hear about initiatives the school may be considering. It will be a chance for parents to ask questions, give feedback, and gain information about any future plans and developments for the school.
Over the course of the next three terms, as part of our Post Inspection Action Plan, the forum will be asked to pay particular attention to: School communication including new formats for newsletters and a new website, Curriculum and Digital Visions; Curriculum Design: What Matters in Pontllanfraith; Attendance procedures; RSE before summer term sessions; Transition arrangements & Class organisation policy; Curriculum for Wales and Evaluation. Parents will be given opportunities for to submit requests for agenda items for future meetings.
The parent forum will not have any statutory responsibilities, duties or powers in the school and will not be the forum to discuss concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff.
The Parent Forum will take place every half term for about an hour. Each meeting will be held in school and chaired by Mrs. J Tucker. Minutes will be taken and shared on the school website.
Ideally, we would like to have 2 representatives per class. If you are interested in joining the Parent Forum, please complete the Google Form attached. If there is a high number of volunteers, we will hold an election to appoint representatives.
