No lunch served

The universal free lunch and breakfast program has not been renewed by the government for next school year. This means that families who do not qualify for free or reduced meals based on family income will begin paying for breakfast and lunch during the 2022-2023 school year.

2nd Grade Field Trip to Bloomington Children's Museum

Bus leaves at 8:30. All students need a sack lunch with a drink. Bus returns at 2:30 PM.

1:30 PM 3rd Grade Dress Rehearsal for Talent Show in Sievers Center

Friday 5/20

1:30 3rd Grade Talent Show in Sievers Center.

Please park in the Sievers Center parking lot and enter through the doors on the southeast side of the building. If you would like to take your child with you when you leave, please be sure to sign them out with the teacher before you leave.

Tuesday 5/24

12:45 PM 5th Grade Band Assembly in Sievers Center

Thursday 5/26

Small Wonders Family Day at Nick's Park

9:00-10:30: AM Small Wonders

12:30-2:00: PM Small Wonders

Kindergarten Field Trip to Decatur Children's Museum

Bus leaves at 8:30 AM. All students need a sack lunch with a drink. Parent chaperones will meet at the museum. Bus returns at 12:15 PM.

1st Grade Field Trip to Scovill Zoo in Decatur

Bus leaves at 9:30 AM. All students need a sack lunch with a drink. Bus returns at 2:30 PM.

2nd & 3rd Grade Fun Day

Students will enjoy games and inflatables outside and a movie inside. 3rd Grade will be outside from 8:50-10:50 AM and 2nd grade will be outside from 1:10-2:50 PM. Parents are invited to join us outside to help supervise the games. Children who are not Washington 2nd and 3rd graders should not attend. 2nd and 3rd graders will have lunch in the cafeteria as usual.

*If you are chaperoning a field trip or attending Fun Day, please be sure that you have completed a volunteer form. These can be requested in the office or downloaded at www.sages.us.

Friday 5/27

Washington School dismisses for the summer at 11:15 AM.

Report cards will be posted at www.schoolinsight.com on Friday, May 27. Students will bring Fastbridge Benchmark reports home with them.

School Supplies can be ordered online at www.schooltoolbox.com or you can purchase them on your own. School toolboxes can be customized based on what you need and can be scheduled to be delivered to your house on a date of your choice.

It is not too late to register for Camp Invention. It will take place at Washington School from June 20-June 24. Go to www.campinvention.org for more information and to sign up online.

Ideas for Summer Fun With Your Child(ren)

• Have a picnic
• Go to the library
• Blow bubbles
• Do a puzzle
• Plant flowers
• Go for a bike ride
• Make a backyard obstacle course
• Go for a nature walk to find birds, insects, flowers, etc
• Bake a cake together
• Play tic tac toe outside using sidewalk chalk
• Have a dance party
• Go to the Farmers Market
• Take a ride on the Monticello Railway Museum Train
• Hike at Allerton Park
• Have a water balloon toss
• Go to the pool
• Fly a kite
• Go fishing
• Make and deliver cards for nursing home or assisted living residents
• Have a playdate at Nick's Park
• Jump in the puddles after it rains
• Make popcorn and watch a movie
• Let your child pick what to have for dinner and have them help make it
• Build a blanket fort
