Protests at LT Feb. 7-11

During the week of Feb. 7 to 11, various protests regarding the mask mandate occurred at LT. These events ranged from students walking out of class during the school day on Feb. 7 to LT parents and community members entering NC on the evening of Feb. 8, both groups in protest against the mask mandate. On Feb. 10, another group of students stood outside of the Vaughan Building stating their support for the mask mandate.

"We have a group of students here who want to enforce the mask mandate because it is still a rule. We feel that the group of students who have chosen to not follow this rule have not been held accountable for the things they have said, for the things they have done, and most of all for disrupting our learning environment."

"The biggest thing is that we all have to have some compassion and humanity for each other, especially during this time. It feels like everybody is so against each other but we really have to band together especially if we want things to get better."

"I absolutely think that students are sick of it and they are not going to comply anymore because they know that they are right. As terrible as it is this is the only way that this is going to stop."
