Counselors Corner

We all cope in different ways. Some of the coping skills we use can be positive such as going for a walk or listening to music. However, some individuals may utilize unhealthy coping strategies. One of the most concerning is self-harming. Unfortunately, the number of adolescents who self-harm is continuing to rise. There certainly are many myths and a stigma related to self-harming. We wanted to provide you with this article from Embark Behavioral Health which contains helpful information about self-harm behaviors in adolescents. Embark is also holding a webinar for parents and those who work in the mental health field on the topic on Thursday, March 31 at 12. To register and learn more information, please use this link.
