a: Aqueduct

They were cement arches that were raised above the water. There were small tunnels that carried water to the wealthier families in Rome.

B: Blonde

Blond hair was highly prized in Rome, because of the rarity. Romans were usually born with dark, curly hair.

C: Colosseum

The Colosseum held gladiatorial fights. It could seat 50,000 people. Also, it had intricate underground tunnels.

D: Dancing

It was a huge part of entertainment for the Romans. Some times there were performances in the Colosseum.

E: Emperor

Most emperors rule until they die, which might sound like a long time, but it really isn't. If there want an emperor, there would be mad chaos.

F: Forum

It housed the government district in the very center of Rome. Also, a lot of shops set up, becuase people walked by all day.

G: GLadiAtors

These prisoners of war, or volunteers fought to the bloody death in the Colosseum. It was a gory scene, that many Romans enjoyed, it was a huge source of entertainment.

H: Hypocaust

In Ancient Rome, they did not have AC. Instead, they had slaves underground that created fires. There were spaces in the walls that let the hot air from underground into the house.

I: ITAly

Romans ruled almost all of Italy by 200b.c. Italy is known for the unique shape, a boot about to kick something.

J: Julius Caesar

He was a very successful general of the army, and soon after dictated himself as the emperor.

K: Killing

Especially in gladiatorial fights, the death was very gory, but Romans loved it. They liked the deaths, and thought it was very entertaining.

L: Latin

It forms the basis of our English language. Also, the Romans spoke this language.

M: Music

This was another source of entertainment, because they didn't have iPads and iPhones.

N: Nero

He was an evil man. He even killed his own mom. EVIL.

O: Olive oil

Romans use it to cleanse, and soften their skin. Also, it lightened their skin color.

P: Papyrus

Since paper was expensive, they only used papyrus for special documents.

Q: Quail

For dinner, they would have quail, bread, and wine. This was considered a fancy dinner.

R: Romulus

Rome was named after him. He was the very first emperor to rule Rome.

S: Slaves

They weren't treated equally as other Romans. They were sold in slave markets.

T: Trajan's CoLumn

It is an ancient roman comic strip. There are 2,662 figures, and 155 scenes on the huge tower.

U: UnDeRworld

This was a place where all dead people went. It was a dark, and gloomy place. Pluto, also known as Hades in Greek mythology, ruled the underworld.

V: Violence

Many great leaders were brutally murdered. Most likely, gladiators were the murderers.

W: Wax tablet

A piece of wood was covered with wax, and you could write on it. It was reusuable.

X

This is the Roman numeral for ten.

Y: York, england

Soldiers from Ancient Rome settled there, and created what is now York, England.

Z: Zodiac

It is a belt of the heavens. There are twelve signs. Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Saggitarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Picses.
