Artist Statement

All of these images are a part of a larger collaborative project in the Department of Art & Design called Utopia. This project explored humanities fraught relationship between them and their environment. Each of these images explore complexities of design and decay or evolution and exploitation. So much of life and humanities needs and wants are coupled with unintended consequences. More often than not, these unintended consequences are unknown or ignored as we continue on in our bliss. This is the question I carried with me as I photographed. What are the visual contradictions that will allow people to question what they think they know.
