Adoption through Jurassik Bark Rescue

We are so excited that you have considered adoption to find your new best friend and we are even more excited that you are trusting the team at Jurassik Bark Rescue to be a part of such an important decision.

Adoption is a big deal around here and Jurassik Bark's goal with every adoption is to place our dogs into lifelong homes that meet the individual needs of both the dog and the family alike. We have structured our adoption program and policies with this goal in mind.

Important Information

Many of Jurassik Bark's dogs come with additional care needs that can range from medical care to limitations with physical abilities and as such they require homes that are willing and able to accommodate their individual needs.

Jurassik Bark does not operate on a first come first served basis. The selection of our homes is based on those best suited to each individual animal.

Our Adoption Process

Learn about our Dogs - Before submitting your application be sure to check the status of the dog you are interested in to confirm if they are accepting applications. Be sure to review their entire profile to see if they would be a compatible fit for your home and lifestyle. View our dogs.

Submit your application - Complete our online application form. When completing your application please keep in mind that often we will receive multiple applications for a dog so the more information you can provide for our team the better. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Application Review - Each application will be reviewed by our adoptions coordinator for the animal indicated. Please note that Jurassik Bark is run by a team of volunteers so review times may vary depending on the amount of applications received. All applicants who submitted complete applications will be notified via email upon review of their application.

Lets Talk - Selected applicants will be contacted via phone. This call is designed to give the applicant the chance to get more information on the animal and our adoption policies and for our team to learn more about the applicant to better determine if this might be a suitable placement.

Home Check - Selected applicants will be required to undergo a home check by one of our adoptions coordinators to ensure the physical home environment would be suitable for the animals needs. Home checks may be done in person or virtually over zoom or facetime.

Meet and Greet - Finally, selected applicants will get to meet their potential new best friend. The meet and greet may take place with the adoptions coordinator and/or the dogs foster parent. All members of the family including other dogs will be required to be present for the meet and greet.

Lets Make it Official ! - The meet and greet went perfectly and both the adopter and coordinator feel this is a great fit. So it's time to make it official. Adoption contracts and adoption fees must be paid prior to the animal moving to its new home.

What if it doesn't work out?

We know not every dog is the right fit for every home and while we do our best to select homes that have the best chance of lifelong success its not a guarantee. It can take dogs weeks to decompress and adjust to their new surroundings and we always encourage our adopters to be patient while their new family member settles in. We are happy to assist by providing resources to help your dog adjust but if its just not working out, in your adoption contract you will see that whether it be after 14 days or after 14 years (wouldn’t that be great!) should for any reason you become unable to care for your Jurassik Bark Dog we require they be returned to our program where we will be waiting for them with open arms.
