Circled on the Calendar- When the 2022 World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment schedule was released, Ryan Gustin circled the Sharon Speedway stops. His first World of Outlaw victory almost happened last year at the track, and he knew this was a place they could win at.
Momentum Building- Four time series champion, Josh Richards entered the weekend with 3 podiums finishes in the last 4 races. He looked to continue the march forward to his first series victory of the season.
Eyes on the Prize- Dennis Erb Jr. entered the weekend up 100 points in the Championship standings over Max Blair. Erb finished 9th in the 2021 race at Sharon and knows consistency is going to be key down the stretch.
FIRST TIMER! Gustin captures first career World of Outlaws win!
A feeling of déjà vu hit Ryan Gustin as the laps wound down Saturday at Sharon Speedway. A position he knew all too well. Nine months ago, at the same venue, “The Reaper” battled 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson for the lead, ultimately settling for second. Only 12 laps remained Saturday night, and again, he found himself in second. However, this time, he wouldn’t let that nine-month heartbreak last any longer..
