Weekly Newsletter 17th June 2022

Welcome to West Meadows Weekly!

A huge congratulations to all of our children who performed ‘The Songs We Sang’ at The Lamproom Theatre this week as part of Barnsley Drama Festival. We were incredibly proud of every single one of them and impressed with how they worked together as a team. Thank you to all of those families who were able to come and support them and a huge thank you to Mr Ormondroyd and Mrs Wardle for working with the children. The performance is available to view on West Meadows Music twitter under Drama Festival performance. We look forward to our next drama performance of the year ‘Hair Spray’ by our Year 6 leavers.

hot weATheR

We are enjoying some beautiful weather at the minute and it feels like summer has arrived (finally!). Please could we ask all parents to ensure that children have suntan cream on and bring sunhats and water bottles to school.

SEN Local Offer Live Week:

Families Information Service (part of BMBC) is holding Local Offer Live Week from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th June 2022. This is a week-long showcase with many events about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). If you are a parent, carer, or family member of a young person with SEND, this week is for you! There are lots of free events to get involved with to help you understand the SEND services and support available in Barnsley. Plus fun FREE family centre activities for the whole family. Some are drop-in sessions, and some you need to book via the Local Offer Website. The week of events kicks off with ‘Market Place Monday’ on Monday 20th June 2022 @ Priory Campus, Lundwood 10am – 6pm. To view the full timetable, book events and for more information visit: https://barnsley.cloud.servelec-synergy.com/Synergy/Local_Offer/LocalOfferLiveLandingPage.aspx

barnsley Enterprise finals

Earlier this year, our children in Years 1, 4, 5 and 6 had the opportunity to participate in Barnsley Enterprise Day in school, working in teams to design and market their own new bubble bath product for children. Each team pitched at the end of the competition to a panel of judges and from this two winning teams were selected. On Wednesday next week, these teams will compete at the Metrodome with other schools across Barnsley. We wish them every success and we are sure they will do West Meadows proud!

School uniform

Please can we ensure all children have the correct school uniform as we are getting a lot of children wearing hoodies of various colours at the minute which are not correct uniform. Thank you.
