The Fault In Our Stars (John Green): “The book is about this girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster. She has thyroid cancer that is affecting her lungs. It follows her on her journey when she meets Augustus Waters. I like it because I’m a sucker for romantic stories but also because it's a genuine book that makes me cry.”

- Marisa Andoni-Savas

The French Gift (Kirsty Manning): “It’s a book about the French Resistance during World War 2. It follows Evie Black, who is a Parisian, as she attempts to uncover the secrets of her husbands great aunt during her time as a prisoner at a work camp in Germany. I really like reading historical fiction books like this one. I think they’re extremely interesting because they have historical importance that fiction books will never have while still providing the same element of fantasy that fiction provides.”

- Karim Mohamed

On The Come Up (Angie Thomas): “It’s about a girl who wants to become a rapper, like her dad, even when people tell her she shouldn’t. I love how it was written, the author did a great job with writing how it relates to Black people.”

- Leah Eddins

Where The Crawdads Sing (Delia Owens): “It’s a coming of age story about a girl who lives in a marsh mostly by herself in the 1950’s and 60’s. It’s a really good murder mystery book, I highly recommend it. The writing is so beautiful, and the story is really captivating. It’s interesting to see the main character who’s been alone most of her life and abandoned by her family build relationships with people around her and grow as a person.”

-Rosie Mellor

Six Of Crows (Leigh Bardugo): “It’s a fantasy novel that follows six teenagers trying to pull off a heist. I think I like it because it’s super exciting and most of the main characters are morally gray and I think that is super interesting.”
