God will guide us to be:

Kind

We are kind and help others.

We respect and care for each other and are kind friends.

Safe

Year 5 and 6 have been making their own class rules this week. They had to think about how to keep safe in school.

Valued

We have lots of children are celebrating their birthdays during the month of September:
  • Harvey
  • Evie

Today, we celebrated a very special birthday. Happy birthday Mrs Roberts!

Our Best

Look at our wonderful week of learning. We are very proud of our children for trying their best and not giving up.

This week, we have been reflecting on the life of Queen Elizabeth II in our Collective Worship. We have set up two prayer spaces in school for children to spend time for personal reflection about Queen Elizabeth II.

Contact Details and Medical Information

Please ensure that we have up to date contact numbers for your child, particularly if you’ve had a new mobile phone over the holidays or you have any updated medical information.

Attendance

Did you know?
  • Going to school regularly is important to your child’s future. Children who miss school frequently fall behind in their work and do less well in exams.
  • There are only 39 teaching weeks in the school year.
  • Missing 6 days a term every year, is the same as missing one whole school years!
Please help us to help you:
  • Make medical/dental appointments afterschool or in the holidays
  • Take family holidays in school breaks
  • ALWAYS let us know if your child is absent
  • If your child is ill, phone the school before 10:00am on their FIRST day of absence

WE CAN’T TEACH CHILDREN IF THEY AT ARE NOT HERE!

DAYS OFF ADD UP TO LOST LEARNING
Why should children be on time for school?
  • Your child will be calm and ready to begin learning
  • They will not miss registration
  • They will miss the start of the lesson
  • They will not miss any important announcements made during registration time
  • They will not disrupt the other children or staff in the class
  • They will be given the best opportunity to succeed

Don’t forget doors open at 8:50am and lessons start at 9:00am

Fixed Penalty Notices

Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN’s) for non-attendance at school have been reintroduced following the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be used as a last resort.

Penalty notices may be considered appropriate in the following circumstances:

  • At least 10 sessions (5 school days) are lost due to unauthorised absence during the current term. These need not be consecutive;
  • Unauthorised absences of at least 10 sessions (5 school days) as a result of holidays taken in term time or delayed return from extended holidays;
  • Persistent lateness (after the register has closed and an unauthorised absence is created). “Persistent” in this case means at least 10 sessions of late arrival; and
  • Truancy.

If you need any further guidance or support, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Williams.
