JV Tennis Against Bennington

Buff & Tuff

The young Jv girls couldn’t seem to wait to play against Bennington. Girls started to appear at Koch’s Tennis Courts about 30 minutes early.

Bennington's team arrived even earlier than the Mercy girls. As Mercy was approaching the courts Bennington had just finished up their warmups. They seemed to be even more eager to play considering Mercy only got about a 5 minute warmup.

Coach Lopez may have shown up a little late while Mercy was warming up, but he couldn’t wait to help coach the girls. He spent the whole afternoon walking around and giving each girl a little piece of advice.

Sophomore Georgia Kinney ended up playing doubles with freshman Emma Welsh. To help them get prepped for the game, they enjoyed a little before game snack, consisting of juice boxes and chips.

Thumbs Down Town

Emma and Georgia ended up playing against Bennington’s number 1 doubles team. Although they ended up losing 0-6, they put up a good fight. They never gave up throughout the whole match.

Waiting for your turn to play can be quite suspenseful. The amount of time which a match can take is anywhere from 20 minutes to about an hour. So while many of the girls were waiting for their turn, they spent those suspenseful minutes cheering their teammates on.

Thin Smile

With all the cheering that they were doing, they had to get back their energy in a way that would be both quick and efficient, eating. Each match a new set of girls will help bring in some healthy snacks to help us recuperate from the long hard day.

After waiting an hour & 30 minutes, junior Liv Menard was called onto the court to play number 2 singles, leaving her excited and a nervous wreck. She ended up losing to a senior 1-6, which is still very good!

Sadly the Monarchs couldn’t come out on top, which is okay because we all played amazing! A few girls ended up losing 4-6 but they were a really good team.
