St John’s U.K. Holidays Week 4

This week, we met Julie. She lives in London and wanted the challenge of climbing a mountain. We talked to her about her options of travelling to Ben Nevis in Scotland, Snowdon in Wales or Helvellyn in England. We talked to her about the time of year we thought she should travel and climb.

In Science, we explored magnets and investigated if they were attracted to all metals. We discovered they weren’t. Then, we were challenged to get a paper clip out of a glass bottle filled with water. It was great fun. We worked as teams and concentrated really hard.

In Maths, we have been comparing the length of objects and thinking carefully about the language we need to use. Then we began measuring the length of objects using cubes. By the end of the week, we had started measuring in centimetres, using a ruler.

We used new tools on Word this week in Computing to create a piece of art in the style of Henri Matisse. It was quite tricky so we are going to continue working on this next week.

We continued our gymnastics in P.E. And worked on rolls this week. We put a combination of movements together to make a mini sequence.

We’re looking forward to another week of learning and fun and the beginning of February next week!
