PianoMan Eric Lovat

Eric is a talented pianist whose influences and playing style has evolved from listening to and performing classical piano, popular music, blues and jazz standards. His performances are easy on the ear and based on melodic lines and inventive chord voicings, ideal for background piano music at receptions, weddings, corporate dinners, hotels and seasonal events.

Eric is the resident pianist at The Gleneagles Hotel, in the Strathearn Restaurant on Fridays, through Prompt Events. He played in the Strathearn, at Gleneagles during the prestigious 2014 Ryder Cup.

Eric has played at numerous venues including The Gleneagles Hotel, The Edinburgh Caledonian Hilton, The Doubletree by Hilton at Dunblane Hydro, Òran Mór, Xscape, and Strathclyde University. Clients include; The Variety Club Scotland, Glasgow City Council and The Law School Tutors.

Eric was bandleader and MD of Atlantic Avenue, a live band (no backing tracks or tapes), and one of Scotland’s top corporate and wedding bands. He has played at over 150 different venues throughout Central Scotland at prestigious corporate events and weddings over a 15-year period. Eric created all of the musical arrangements from original covers. Over this period he has worked almost exclusively with The Neil Drover Agency and Prompt Events with Atlantic Avenue, and as a solo pianist. He has also worked with his own clients in the corporate and wedding sectors.

He has been involved with various bands and musicians from: - SAHB, Slik, Salvation, Love and Money, Hue and Cry, The Eric Lovat Trio/Quartet, The Violet Leighton Trio, The Chris Clark Trio, over a 30-year period.

Eric is the resident pianist in the Strathearn restaurant in Gleneagles, on Friday's.
