Daily Lives of Peasants in Ancient Egypt By Thomas maiello

Peasants were at the bottom of the social pyramid. They often did very hard work for very little pay. Most peasants did work like picking crops, or planting crops. While these projects were out of season, peasants would work on the pharaoh's project; like building a famous monument or a pyramid. Sadly lots of peasants died due to very little pay, and not having enough money for food.

The daily lives of the peasants were very hard. They would work from sunrise to sunset and they slept in small shaggy houses. For the peasants the best time of year was the end of the harvest season. After all of their hard work they got to keep the extra crops that they harvested. This mostly lasted through the winter while they worked on the pharaoh's project.

Even though peasants were at the bottom of the social classes they kept Egypt's food supply stable, and worked very hard.
