Ingoldsby Update OCTOBER 2022

I have dropped into class every day and it's lovely to see how well the children have settled into their new groups. I am seeing some lovely work in books which are already showing attention to presentation. The children appear happy and engaged and to be enjoying their work.

As a whole school, we are encouraging children to greet us and each other politely and to follow routines calmly.

PE Kit and Uniform

Please label uniform. It is very difficult to get back to the correct children without names!

Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school including trainers. The PE top should be red and the bottoms red or grey/black.

Our school polo shirts are red. Please send pupils in the correct school uniform that fits each day.

We do have some second hand uniform available.

Art Focus Day

In year one to six we had a full day of Art on Thursday 15th September. Kestrels explored the life and works of Paul Klee, Falcons investigated perspective through the artist Van Gogh and Buzzards studied self portraiture and the artist Freida Kahlo.

On Friday 16th September, we took time to reflect on the life of the Queen Elizabeth II.

We joined a live service with all of the the DRET primary schools.

Time Tables Key Stage 2

Learning times tables supports success in numeracy. Practising TT Rockstars 21 minutes a week helps children gain the fluency that they need to tackle the Year 5 and 6 curriculum.

It is a homework expectation from year 2 to practice tables for a total of 21 minutes across the week.

SEN Spotlight

If your child has a termly support plan, your child's class teacher will have made contact with you to let you know how they have settled in and to arrange a review.

Mental Health Support

Healthy Minds Lincolnshire provide emotional wellbeing support for children and young people up to 19 years old. If you have a special educational need or disability or are a care leaver we can see you up to the age of 25.

Everyone at some point might find it hard to cope with how they are feeling or what is happening in their life. HML provides early support when you start to feel that life is getting out of control and you need some help to cope.

Lincolnshire Healthy Minds can support by:

  • Directing you to use self-help
  • Workshops delivered online or at school to small groups of children or young people as a one-off session
  • Virtual groups delivered to a small number of young people, these consist of 5-6 sessions.
  • One-to-one sessions with a Practitioner. These are typically delivered virtually within a school or community setting (one to six sessions).

Supporting children with ADHD

Save the date: Thursday 20th October 9am - 10am Drop in coffee morning for parents of SEND with the principal.

Safety Spotlight

At Ingoldsby, we are dedicated to supporting children grow into young people who are safe and nurtured. We have a thorough Personal, Socal and Health Education programme alongside planned workshops throughout the year.

The whole school participated in a Dog's Trust assembly and workshop on Monday. This was designed to teach children how to be safe around dogs they both know and do not know.

Annie taught us all about dogs.

Year 6 have taken part in an esafety workshop with the 'Stay Safe Partnership'.

Parking in the car park:

  • Please do not use the car park between 8.25 - 9.10am and 3.00-3.45pm.
