A PLAYGROUND FOR ALL AT PLAINS PARK

1 in 6 children aged 3-17 are affected by a disability.

Despite reports of this from the CDC, differently-abled children in and around Hatfield have very few options when it comes to outdoor play.

Plains Mennonite Church recognizes that all children need opportunities for socialization and time outdoors, as well as physical exercise, motor skill development and cardiovascular endurance.

In seeking to live as faithful followers of Christ, we are called to love our neighbors and are committed to sharing God’s love and resources in the local community.

Creating a Playground for All at Plains Park is one way that Plains Mennonite Church is responding to the needs of families in our community.

The new, inclusive playground at Plains Park will feature:

A Cozy Cocoon to assist relaxation, offering escape from overstimulation. A Unity Dome to offer stability rings for children in wheelchairs or with lower body mobility. A Pup Tent to encourage imaginative play and socialization. A Shade Structure to provide relief from the heat and sun. Rubberized flooring to increase accessibility for anyone with mobility aides such as crutches or walkers.

We need your help!

We have raised 75% of the $105,000 needed to fund this project, but we will need our community's partnership as we complete this important project. Here are three opportunities to help:

  1. Make a financial contribution. Every gift will help us raise the final amount needed!
  2. Invite friends to a "Playtime for All" fundraising gathering at a local playground. Share why this project is important to you and invite them to join you in contributing to this community effort.
  3. Help spread the word! Share our brochure (available at Plains Park) with others who you think will value this project!

Learn more! Pick up a brochure at Plains Park, come to our Sunday service (10:15 a.m.) or contact us at (215) 362-7640 or office@PlainsMennoniteChurch.Org.

Contributions can be mailed to: Plains Mennonite Church, Attn: Playground Fund (50 W. Orvilla Road, Hatfield, PA 19440)
