Rainbow Rowell was born February 19, 1973.

Growing up she experienced divorce and poverty. growing up in a poor neighborhood, she engrossed herself in comics to escape from reality. (Gale Biography in Context)

She is married to her husband, Kai Wilken, and has two kids, Laddie and Rosey.

She has written a total of 5 full-leangth novels, as well as a couple short stories. She is currently in the process of collaborating to make a comic and was hired to write the screenplay for a movie adaptation of her novel, Eleanor & Park.

Rowell has a way with words that grabs the reader and makes them care. She creates relate-able characters, with realistic problems, that make the reader want to go through a journey of lessons and emotions with them.

Rowell is also invested in her fans. she releases special collector editions with fanart from her fans and has merchandise for her novel available.
