Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry Journal part I - Application And Acceptance

"Woah. What a whirlwind few weeks, last Monday, this all became very real, last night, it became a reality."

At the beginning of Febuary half term, I jumped into the river and started my application for Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) in Redding, California. It's always been a dream of mine to go to there, but it was more of a concept, an abstract idea that was never really going to happen. If there's one thing that this application process has taught me so far is that God cradles your dreams even closer than you do.

The BSSM application is not for the faint hearted. Questions about every part of your life are asked, from Alcohol, to Pornography, right through to your personal walk with Jesus. I was challenged to be open and authentic within the application, I'll be honest, this was a lot harder than I first expected. If your considering applying, and cannot be open regarding personal issues, this might not be place for you. What's even more challenging is then hearing that you're references had to answer the same questions about you! This is part of the culture at Bethel, I've such respect for it. The grace and dignity that is shown in dealing with issues is immense. Cannot wait to get over there.

Once I'd applied, I found myself on the other end of a Skype interview. Where the application questions were raised, and I had the most amazing conversation! Full of grace and love for some of the issues that the application process had raised, we sat and worked stuff through for a full 40 minutes, to be honest, it felt more like a ministry one on one than an interview. What a privilege!

So the interview is over, I've been told I'll get an email In a few weeks. So I'm stood on Bournemouth beach at 11:45 after going to see a film with some friends. Out of habit, I check my emails.

"Dear Matthew, We are delighted to inform you that you have been accepted to the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry for the 2015/2016 school year."

If you were anywhere near Bournemouth last night, you more than likely heard my shout..

God is good all the time. If you're waiting in a promise that he's given you, if you feel like your stagnent in your waitiHng, know that whatever his timing is is, it's perfect, and it is so good.

So for now, I'm drowning in Essays, Visa applications and fund raising. I keep having to remind myself that yes that essay on Meta-Ethics is actually still important. I'll keep you updated as I get closer to that Plane!

"Woah. What a whirlwind few weeks, last Monday, this all became very real, last night, it became a reality."
