Once you have posted a Newsela Assignment, fill out this MICROSOFT FORM. In the Submission of Evidence portion of the Form, please paste the link to your Schoology course where the Newsela Assignment is. Once your information has been received and determined to meet the criteria, you will be awarded your badge and points. You can view your badges HERE on our Leaderboard.

What is Newsela?
Newsela is a literacy-focused edtech startup company founded by Matthew Gross. It offers leveled and standards-aligned informational content that is available in English and Spanish. Newsela serves 90% of schools, including over 37 million K-12 students and 2.5 million teachers.
For Schoology
Newsela: Assigning Content
- Go into Schoology Course
- Select Add Materials and Newsela in the material type list.
- Search for content or select content from Collection. You also can filter content to find what you are looking for.
- Select a card to Preview article content and activities.
- Select Close to return to the search results.
- Select Add Link to Newsela content.
- You will know you are successful when you see the title of the article in your Schoology course.
- Enter Title and select Add
How to Add the Assignment Activities to the Newsela Article
- Select the Article in your Course.
- Select Assign.
- Select Add Class and Add Your Class.
- Fill in any other relevant information and select Assign.
