STEMi - STEM Career Day Field Trip for 8th Graders
This week, Baker 8th Grade Students visited our high schools to explore opportunities that will soon be available to them in career oriented classes in areas of study such as Cyber Security, Computer Programming, Megatronics, Engineering and Robotics. They also had a chance to visit a mobile innovation station, which is a semi truck turned into a 1,000 square foot learning center for high-tech industry equipment. It was a lot of fun for our students, staff and board members who had a chance to stop by.

Black History Month
Did you know that the first celebration of Black History Month took place at Kent State in 1970? Six years later, Black History Month was being celebrated all across the country and gained wider recognition when President Gerald Ford publicly recognized it in 1976, during the celebration of the United States Bicentennial. Black History Month is just one of the 12 months a year when Black history is celebrated nationally.
The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is a local resource that highlights Black history 12 months out of the year. If you and your family are interested in celebrating Black History Month and are passionate about learning more about African American culture, contributions to American society, and role in U.S. History, click on the link above to see their current and upcoming exhibitions.
