Ladybug Festival 2022

We celebrated Spring by welcoming more than 400K Ladybugs and 600 Butterflies to Daybreak at the Annual Ladybug Festival in Daybreak. This educational event provided opportunities for attendees to learn about pollinators and which bugs are good or bad for the garden. Booths introduced attendees to a variety of garden-based activities such as vermicomposting, how bees make honey, and how to create a nature journal. Youth and parents were able to plant sunflowers (the country flower of Ukraine). Attendees feasted on ladybug cookies and, if they were brave enough, actual bugs! It was an excellent opportunity to learn, be active, and spend time with neighbors.
