6th Grade Peek of the Week August 2, 2023

🏫😎 We are excited to welcome 6th Grade scholars on Wednesday morning! 😎🏫

Some things to know about our schedule:

• Dropoff-7:30 a.m. is the dropoff time for middle school students; if you happen to arrive at school before then, please have your student wait with you in your car until 7:30 a.m.
• Lunch- teachers will walk their class to the lunchroom. They will sit at their designated table. There may be opportunities later in the year for them to sit with friends in other classes. 👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏼👩🏼‍🤝‍🧑🏾👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏽👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏼 Reminder! The Free & Reduced Lunch form is all online this year. See below for the link.
• Seminar- students will have Seminar with their 2nd academic teacher. This is a time for social-emotional learning, working on assignments that haven't been finished, going to the library, phone check time at 1:20, etc. (FYI-Homeroom is listed on their schedule but we don't run much if any information through homeroom.)
• Science & Social Studies- students have these two classes on a rotating basis. Similar to the high school schedule, RED classes are held Monday-Wednesday-Friday and WHITE classes are held Tuesday-Thursday-Friday. The class time on Friday is split in half so they can see both teachers. The kids get the hang of this very quickly.
• Band- if you are interested in your student joining band, let us know! You can call the front office or email our band director, Avery Gallups, at agallups@bryan.k12.ga.us 🎷🎺🥁🎼
• PE or Weightlifting- if your child has either of these classes on their schedule, Coach Roberts & Crosby highly suggest they bring a change of clothes. That way they can work hard in class and not be in them the rest of the day. They will also need to wear tennis shoes for these classes. 👟👟👟👟👟👟👟👟👟👟

We were so glad to meet many of you at Rising Redskins & Open House! 🤩 If you missed it, your student will receive their paperwork on the first day of school.
