Sukhdev Sandhu
Faculty Fellow in Residence (FFIR)
Sukhdev Sandhu directs the Asian/ Pacific/ American Studies Program at New York University. He teaches in the Department of English Literature and of Social and Cultural Analysis on topics such as ghosts, the politics of water, the art of destruction and British comedy. He makes radio documentaries, writes about film for many journals, and spends his free time listening to unlistenable records and reading vitriolic Yelp reviews of grocery stores.
David Cregar
Writing Affiliate
David Cregar is a Senior Language Lecturer in the Expository Writing Program. He came to NYU in 1993, as a graduate student in the Steinhardt School’s English Education doctoral program, and began teaching in the Expository Writing Program that same year. At EWP he was worked as a consultant in The Writing Center, and taught many of the writing courses for first-year students. For the past ten years he has focused on teaching writing for International students, and also serves as a coordinator for those courses. He taught writing courses at NYU Abu Dhabi in its inaugural year, 2010-11, and helped develop The Writing Center and Writing Program there.
Until recently, he also taught, each summer since 1989, at Montclair State University (N.J.), in the Educational Opportunity Fund Summer Program, a developmental program for incoming students who need more time and practice reading and writing in college. David earned his B.A. and M.A. in English and American Literature at Montclair State. His Master’s Thesis was the first in his department to examine writing pedagogy. David has presented frequently at CCCC, NCTE, and other conferences for teachers of English.
David grew up on a lake in Northwest New Jersey, where he now lives with his wife Veronica, and Frankie the French Bulldog.
Zach Udko
Faculty Affiliate
Zach Udko is a Senior Lecturer at New York University, where he teaches writing courses at Tisch School of the Arts. His plays have been produced in New York, California, and England. As a theater and film critic, he has written for Huffington Post, Backstage West, and UInterview, and his photographs have been published in Christie’s Magazine. He is also a director and connoisseur of camp. Zach is a graduate of Stanford University (BA and MA, English) and New York University (MFA, Dramatic Writing).
