Race 6: Fur Rondy “The road to success is based on your determination and persistence.”

🐺FIRE AND ICE🐺

The Fur Rendezvous Festival is an annual winter festival held in Anchorage, Alaska.

The name "Fur Rendezvous" derives from swap meets at which fur trappers would gather to sell their winter harvests.

One of the most sought after during the Fur Rondy is the World Championship Sled Dog Race. The race can last anywhere from five days to two weeks and commemorates the mushers who raced against time in 1925 to get lifesaving serum into Nome because of a diphtheria epidemic.

Which brings us to the next race...

A mash-up is defined as a fusion or mixture of disparate elements.

Fur Rondy is a MASH-UP of events that is held annually through the ICEY weathers but remains antithetically as one of the HOTTEST events in Alaska!

So let’s Mash-Up the Fire and Ice Ambassadors of The HuskieS!

For the purpose of this race, the Ambassadors wrote a brief description about themselves.

Life with The HuskieS had its ups and downs. There came a time when the Ambassadors faltered and the group nearly fell. It was that one moment of realization that family is more precious than pride.

1. THEME: A Mash-Up combining the description of both Ambassadors into one entry!

The Mash-Up songs must contain BOTH of the Ambassadors’ description. It cannot be from just one of the Ambassador’s description.

A Mash-Up of the following:

ADDENDUM: These are the choices. You may choose any from here and/or mix it up.

Combined personalities.
Combined Fire and Ice.
Combined genres.
Combined Black and Pink colors.
Combined favorite songs.
A mixture of everything from their description.

2. SONG/GENRE: Any released English or Filipino base track with 3 or more mash-up songs that is relevant to the theme.

YOU DO NOT NECESSARILY NEED TO USE THE SONGS ON THEIR FAVORITE LIST. YOU MAY SEARCH FOR OTHER SONGS THAT FITS THEIR DESCRIPTION.

Tagalog and the other dialects will be allowed.
A mash-up with a combination of Filipino and English songs will be allowed.
Embellishments such as spoken, rap and/or an extemporized ad-lib will be allowed but DO NOT alter the entire lyrics.

3. VERSION AND KEY: Any version and key EXCEPT A CAPELLA, PARODY, AND/OR MEDLEY.

Revivals will be allowed.

4. OPEN TRACK as a single-person entry.

NON-VIP: Please ask for a Race Official to open your track.
Pre-uploaded Mash-Up cover songs will NOT be allowed.
Uploading of your own track will NOT be allowed. We can upload the track for you BUT this will take time.

5. FORMAT: Audio format only. Video format will be disqualified.

6. SOUND EFFECTS: Any sound effects from Smule may be used EXCEPT Super Harmony.

Additional sound effects and voice modifiers from the other Apps such as, but not limited to, Style Studio, GarageBand, Bandlab, Music Editor, etc will NOT be allowed.
External audio mixers will NOT be allowed.

7. LAYERS:

VIP - Minimum of 1 main + 9 joins and no maximum.
NON-VIP - 1 Race Official + minimum of 10 joins and no maximum.

8. BACKGROUND VOCALS: Pre-recorded backing vocals will NOT be allowed.

9. ORIGINAL COMPOSITION, such as replacing an entire verse, chorus, bridge or whole lyrics, will NOT be allowed.
