The 6th Annual Anything Goes Classic is slated for the first weekend of May (2nd, 3rd & 4th). That's right...another 2-day tourney. Well, 1.5 actually. Similar to last year, this year's tournament will be on The Tenneessee River watershed only! Details below.
The Anything Goes Classic is a fly fishing tournament based in the heart of The Scenic City (Chattanooga, Tennessee). Hosted by The Hatch Outfitters, the Anything Goes is a multi-species tournament that promises to deliver a good time in a semi-classy setting. From our mascot, the Tennessee tarpon, to the elusive musky, all species are fair game! Choose your team, choose your water, and compete for top prizes.

Important Changes This Year:
- Day 1 of the tournament kicks off at 30 minutes before official sunrise (TBD) on Saturday, May 3rd and ends 30 minutes after sunset (TBD). Day 2 starts again at 30 minutes before sunrise (TBD) and ends at 12pm.
- For 2025, we will be awarding double points (2 Points) to one specific species and will unveil that species at the Captain's Meeting.
General Rules & Regs
- Catch and release only
- Public water only!
- Fly fishing tackle only (if found with conventional gear, bait, scent, or tomfoolery of any kind, you will be disqualified)
- Any and all species are valid
- Largest catch of any species is awarded 1 point
- Minimum entry length 10’’
- Fish are to be measured to the nearest quarter inch.
- All fish in photos must be clearly measured from head to tail. with the token visible. You can pick these tokens up the day before the tournament at the kickoff party. Try and measure fish while practicing good catch and release ethic. You may use your own rulers or tape measures.
- * Tournament boundaries this year are on the Tennessee River and its tributaries between Watts Bar Dam and the Georgia border downstream of Nickajack Dam (South Pittsburg, TN). Tributaries may be fished to their headwaters or until they reach a dam. (CLICK HERE for radius Map).
- Captain's Meeting is Friday at 7pm at The Hatch. Attendance is mandatory for at least 1 angler from each team .
- Teams of up to 3 members are allowed.
- Only registered participants are allowed in boats or watercraft.
- Catch logs will be released Saturday night by 9pm via email. This way anglers can see current standings and plan their half-day Sunday accordingly.
- Wrap up party and awards ceremony at Naked River Brewing (upstairs) on Sunday from 5-7pm.
- Anglers must send all fish photos to contactthehatch@gmail.com by the close of each day (30min after each day's end time) with anglers name or group name, fish species, and length. Pics can be sent earlier in the day, but please send only your biggest fish of each species. No entries considered past 30mins after the close of each tournament day (Must have token visible in all photos).
- The winner is the angler/group with the most points.
- In the event of a species tie 1 point will be awarded to each team.
- In the event of a points tie, position advantage will be given to the team with the biggest point-earning fish.
