Term 2b, week 2

This week, in our Geography lessons, we have continued our work studying the Amazon Rainforest.

We read and learned about the indigenous peoples who call the rainforest their home.

In our assembly on Tuesday, we told the rest of the school and our parents all about the learning we have done so far about South America and the Amazon Rainforest.

We had loads to tell everyone about and we presented our assembly very well.

Also this week, Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a workshop led by Clennell Education Solutions. We learned about how to keep ourselves as safe as possible whilst we are accessing the online world. We were taught about the various social media platforms and the age restrictions for using them. We discussed our privacy settings and ensuring they are as private as possible so people can’t access our personal information. We should never share personal information online and our location settings should be switched off. We were asked to reflect on if we would talk to a stranger, face to face, in the street. Our answer was ‘no’ so then we were asked why we would accept requests on social media from strangers!

We also learned about age restrictions for games and social media platforms and why they are set at the age they are.

In PE we are learning the skills needed to play tennis.

We thoroughly enjoyed this lesson and worked really well together.

We held auditions for our talent show next week in aid of Comic Relief. We have our acts sorted and can’t wit to perform in front of the school.

Finally this week, we wrote and completed our Amazon Rainforest animal fact file.

It’s been a busy week!
