About the project Students present people from our country who had a significant role in the history of the different subjects we learn at school. Students learn about the cultural heritage of other countries. Students meet partners from other countries and interact with them via email. Partners communicate in English but the outcomes (the work produced by the students) can be in English, French and Spanish.
AIMS - Learn about the lives of people who had a significant role in the history and culture of each country.- Learn about the contribution of different people to the subjects students learn at school.- Use different Web 2.0 tools to create outcomes on the different important people students are studying.- Meet new friends from abroad, have fun and interact with them by playing games about the different important people and by writing emails to each other.- Use the English Language for a real purpose and become aware of the importance of knowing foreign languages in order to be able to communicate with people of their same age and interests.- Get confident in using English for communicative purposes.
WORK PROCESS - Students present themselves (and their schools / towns) by posting photos and descriptions, by creating videos, etc.- Students find out about important people who had a significant role in the subjects they learn at school (Science, Maths, Physics, ...)- Students are divided into groups and each group presents either a different important person or the same important person but in a different way.- Students create presentations of the important people with different outcomes - PowerPoint presentations, Prezi presentations, digital books, videos, photos mimicking the characters, etc. - they use their imagination and creativity.- Students post their work on the project Twinspace.- Students create a game about their characters so that the partners from other countries can play (Kahoot, for example).- Students connect with each other via forum to find e-pals and write emails to each other to get to know more about each other’s country and culture.
EXPECTED RESULTS - Students learn about their national culture and heritage and about the history of the subjects they learn at school.- Students learn about the culture and national heritage of the partner countries.- Students interact with partners from other countries.- Students learn how to work with different Web 2.0 tools and create outcomes with them, thus developing their web skills.- Students write emails to each other to get to know partners better and other cultural characteristics.

Runni Lower Secondary School Grade 8 - 10. Student age 12-16. Runni LSS is a public school with about 500 students. Each grade have about 5-6 classes. The school consists of three seperate buildings. There are regular classrooms on the groundfloor, while there are arst & craft in building A, music and kitchen in building B and the school administration in building C. Each classrom has their own entrance with a coatroom and toilet for the students. Each class has their own classroom and they are taught all subjects here, except craft subjects and chosen languages, such as French, German and Spanish where they are all mixed. This makes the classroom very personal for the students and it is their "homeroom", where they keep their backpack and books. Their desks have a locker where they may have their books and personal belonging right beside them, stored safely with a lock. Norwegian schools are open to every child living in Norway, that means that we have disabled access to all classrooms. My class benefit from a microphone/audio system to help with reduced hearing. We are a digital school and each student has their own iPad.In the long lunch break students engage in activities to fight bullying. These activities are student based program. We even had a visit from the Crown Princess Mette Marit to show and tell about the benefits of this program a few years ago. Here you can see a picture from that day.

Rosche - Germany
Hello, we are Nathalie, Felix, Marvin, Yannick, Leon, Tillmann, Laura and Malin - students in the "Wahlpflichtkurs Französisch" in Rosche together with our teacher Mrs Rose. In French we had a Unit about the internet and dangers of the internet ("Ados en réseaux", "Mes copains du web", "Attention dans l'internet"). eTwinning was a practical way to talk about possibilities of a safe communication. But we also learned and repeated "Presentations of ourselves" in the internet. We also learned the country names and abbreviations in French and English. With the presentations of famous people we learned the tense "passé composé" (avec avoir et être) in the french lesson.
And: The first messages from our partners in Luxemburg arrived. On 25 th february we had the votes for our Logo, each student (and teacher) is allowed to vote one time. And: Les premiers messages de nos correspondants francais, Esther et Majdouline sont arrivés, merci beaucoup!
We do our best! The kahoot from Greece was very interesting. The quizz from our partners in Luxembourg was a bit long and with a lot of details. End of the project. We played a few interesting kahoots and we learned a lot about different scientists and authors. We especially liked Fernando Pessoa and Ronaldo.
At the beginning of the next school year we will create an article for the school home page 😁

The beginning of this fantastic experience was the explanation of the project to the students. They felt soon attracted at the work so we starting watching the different countries involved in the project. We printed the map and looked for the location of each country. Then, we decide to color and complete the maps in the free space that we had. In case of no having enough time, they would finish this task at home. The months of December and January we pick up information about the famous scientific. The previous months, we had distributed the task and thought about the way of organizing the information. It was the most difficult part, becouse until we get the organization made, and the technical deccisions taken we felt a bit lost. During this time we also recorded some videos with the introduction of the students who wanted to do it.The month of February we attended once a week to computer class to make our introductions with voki and to create our digital book using "canva". It is tooking much time that I would have expected, but it is worth it because my students work enthusiastically. Here you have some of the photos I took while they were working.
Next days we will continue recording the authentic voice in some "voki" introductions" and working in the digital book. The next months we continued working many aspects of the job: on the one hand, we tried to complete our digital book, whic took a lot of time due to many handicaps found: problems with the password, distribution of the work, lack of time, difficulty of the students to manage the program, etc. On the other hand, my students start to write some mails to different partner of different countries. They showed enthusiastic when they received some news. The last week (middle May) we finished at last, our etwinning book. To get it I had to scold some some students who were behind in their homework. Now, we are preparing the questions for Kahoot. We have done a half, and I hope that we will finish in one week. The problem is the lack of time, as the students have a lot of assesment and exams in the last month of the course. As we liked the map created by our partners of Portugal, we have just created one in the same way. It has been a fantastic experience and I am going to post some photos
Today we went to computer room to play kahoot. Students enjoyed a lot trying to get the first place. Besides, they created and mur with the title of our project. They couldnt almost decorate it because time flied. We will put our map and our book in one place to show it to the rest of students and we consider our project finish. Tomorrow pupils wont attend classes. It is the first day of summer holidays for them.
Finally, we will do an exposition with our digital book, our logos, murales and the map. The problem is that, given that in our school are taking place the exams to get a post of teacher , there are a lot of people here.As a consequence, we have decided to expose our job In September, when our students come back. It has been a pleasure to develop this job because it has made possible to get a deeper closeness with the students. I will tale photos of our exposition when it is made.

My name is Carmen-Mirela Butaciu and I am a teacher of English In Liceul Atanasie Marienescu, Lipova. I would like to write a few words about this project. As I know so well, I worked very hard with students from several classes in this project, as well as in many others, and first and foresmost, they were very dedicated and thrilled, with something different from classic teaching. Project- based learning, flipped and blended, collaboration among teachers and students, digital, communication, intercultural, linguistic competences are all intellectual outputs that were definitely developed and enhanced throughout the course of all project. The activities were found gripping and enjoyable by our students, and we have received an utterly positive and encouraging feedback by the parents of the students, who were permanently informed, by the other teachers in our school, by headmasters, as well as the local community through processes of dissemination. Reading the log of the project, and assisting along, I firmly believe it is neatly organized, the tasks are suitable for students peculiarities, the worload is appropriate, the impact of its outputs could be tremendous, comprising so many countries, schools, students etc. The general collaboration was only positive, founder, cofounder, partners, students all were eager and willing, polite and respectful in carrying out tasks, implementing suggestions , putting forward siggestions, advice etc. Last, but not least, the human, humanistic and humane resources, results and assessments are only of top quality. That is why, I sincerely recommend this project for high achievements, and we are firmly determined to promote it and disseminate it further in local media, educational platforms, newspapers and mazgazines, both paper and digital ones in Romania, so that our colleagues could find out and learn from the experiences, results and expertise of the etwinning teachers of the project, and the marvellous works of our dearest students who so passionately put in hard work and commitment in carrying out the aims of it. Student-Centeredness i assume, is the key-feature of this project. I also am very grateful to our dearly cherished etwinner friend Ana Sofia, who, with much sensitivity and sensibility, guided us throughout the course of the whole project, assisting us with her high expertise and professionalism. I am certain we will collaborate further, same with the other dear partners. Congratulations to all!!
My name is Iulia Scorobete and I am a primary teacher of Preparatory class D in Liceul Atanasie Marienescu, Lipova. My good friend Carmen-Mirela Butaciu asked me to say a few words about the Project. In the light of the intellectual, as well as tangible outputs and attainments realized by Etwinning partners and students throughout the course of the past months, I firmly express my view that all of you have fulfilled the central aims put forward by this project, namely, an intrinsic urge and stimulus to enhance the process of learning. Concerning the other goal, all partners have succeeded in instilling the thirst for knowledge in our students, both in mother tongues, and English, with a view to stirring further their creativity and other skills and competences derived from delving deeply into fictional as well as non-fictional texts visually, aurally, and kinesthetically. The project has made a significant contribution to Teachers' professional careers. Thanks to collaboration with project partners, we all had the opportunity to find new ideas for creative training activities and integrate new tools into classes. The most important impact of our project on our students is that they rekindled love and intrinsic motivation for reading, both fiction and non-fiction,and digital skills, in an effective manner, acquiring and deepening effective reading strategies. In addition to this, our students have gained significant contributions to their future educational lives by gaining competences in linguistic and ICT skills, conscious internet usage and communication. The products obtained during the project process (posters, storybook, videos, presentations, , final presentation, survey results) are used as documents in English and Project courses. The most important result is to enable students to integrate technology usage into the course and increase interest in the course, cultural richness between different countries and cities, and the awareness of the importance of friendship and cooperation. By social media sharing results are accessed by a wider audience.
Dear friends, my students and I from Rosche, Germany, we really appreciated the project and as we can see on our "Kahoot!" account, about 130 students played our games! We were very surprised that this is possible and thank everyone who joined our games. We also learned a lot about your national heritage and heroes while playing your kahoots. We all wish you a nice summer and we invite everyone to contact us if you like to start a new eTwinning project. Bettina Rose
