Life Skills Field Trip to Hill Elementary

On Friday, March 8, our Life Skills classes visited kindergarten classes at Hill Elementary to deliver "monsters". Kindergarteners created a monster and wrote a story about it. Then the students in Life Skills recreated the monster to practice their sewing skills. Together, the students got to visit and read the story. What a great experience to pour into the community!!!

Larson Choir Festival Results

Mrs. Kirksey and our 7/8 choir are excited and proud to report they earned a score of "1 - Excellent" at MSVMA Choral Festival today. This is the highest score that they are able to earn. Mrs. Kirksey added that she was very proud of our students both on and off the stage today. "They sang beautifully and demonstrated respect, responsibility, resilience and teamwork."

MIRM 8th Grade Service Project

On Tuesday, March 19th, our 8th graders will return to their elementary schools to participate in a March is Reading Month service project. 8th graders will visit their former elementary schools to spend time with and read to future Rebels! In order to make this happen, we NEED to have permission slips returned ASAP to your 8th graders second hour class! Please work with us to ensure every 8th grader is able to participate in the service project.

Forgotten Items and Lunch Drop Offs

To ensure safety and security, we are encouraging all student items to be dropped off on the blue cart in the vestibule and labeled with a sticky note. In addition to the sticky note, please use the Daily Drop off Log to put your students name and item. We will be going through the cart every hour to make sure items get to your student in a timely manner.

Student IDs

Please make sure your student has their ID on them at Larson. IDs help keep the flow of the lunch line moving and are necessary to check books and resources out of the media center. Thanks for your support!

8th Grade Celebration

Congratulations LMS Science Olympiad!

the Science Olympiad competed at the Oakland County Regional Competition at Detroit Country Day School on Saturday, March 2. This was the most nerve-wracking competition of the season so far. for all the students, it was either go big or go home! That was because, everyone knew that only the top five schools in our whole county would move on to the next big competition, which is States. Everyone wanted to be that school, knowing that if they weren’t, this would their last competition of the year! So, without further ado, here were the results *drumroll please*, Larson got 2nd place overall in our whole county!! Also they were also the #1 best team in Troy!! This was a spectacular result and proved that we were going to States for sure!! Larson also won first place medals in Flight, Optics and Roller Coaster! This was really the best competition of the season, so far, for the students in Larson Middle School’s Science Olympiad! Fortunately, Regionals was not the end and States is left to win! States is on May 4th this year, at Western Michigan University and is usually really competitive because the best teams from all around Michigan will come to compete! So, come back after May 2nd to get an update on how amazing Larson Middle School’s Science Olympiad team did in States Competition! Wishing the team good luck for States!! - lAKSHYA mATELE (SCIENCE oLYMPIAD TEAM MEMBER)
