The Weston Weekly February 18, 2022

We hope you have an enjoyable long weekend. A reminder there is no school on Monday in observance of Presidents' Day. We will see everyone back on Tuesday!

Weston Fundraiser

Weston Elementary will be having a fundraiser March 7 - March 31. All proceeds go directly back to the classrooms to fund special projects, field trips, etc. Please check out the information below. Each student will be supplied with an order form and an example bag. We appreciate your support of our students and school! Materials will be coming home soon.

Random Act of Kindness Week

We had a great week promoting kindness and supporting Riley Children's Hospital. Thank you for participating in our spirit week to raise funds for this worthy cause. We appreciate Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Nagle planning an "Incredible" week around kindness for our staff and students.

We saw many acts of Incredible Kindness this week at Weston. Students did and said things that were helpful and nice to others. Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class is shown here making an estimate of how many Laffy Taffy's are in the jar. The class with the closest estimate will win the jar for next week! Who will come the closest without going over?

Kids Heart Challenge

Weston PE classes have been participating in the Kids Heart Challenge. Due to our virtual learning day, the deadline to turn in money has been extended to Tuesday, February 22. The top 5 students who earn the most money will get to slime Mrs. Bennett and receive a special gift.

2-Hour Delay Schedule:

In the event of a 2-hour delay, the school doors will open at 9:20. The tardy bell rings at 9:40. No breakfast is served on delay days.

Virtual Learning Day Schedule:

As winter weather is upon us, we would encourage you to plan ahead in the event of a school cancellation. Please be prepared to have your student on-line for live virtual instruction with their classroom teacher at 9:00 AM. Your teacher will communicate a daily schedule with you in the event that in-person learning is canceled for a virtual learning day.

Cold Temperatures:

Recess: As the weather turns colder, please ensure your student is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess.

We will also use these temperature guidelines for car line. Students will remain inside the building. This may extend the time of car line dismissal, but will also ensure out students remain safe & warm.
