Greetings Everyone,
I hope this message finds you well and your week off to a great start! The warmer weather the last few days has been a nice treat, definitely hoping for more!
I happened to run into a colleague the other day, Nic Voge, Senior Associate Director, at the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning as he was passing by the ADI team’s Valentine’s movie night. Great event planned by Melena Laudig (Diversity Fellow extraordinaire) and Nova Smith, with a wonderful discussion led by Sue Kim from CPS. Yes, a lot of name dropping right there, couldn’t help it – they are all awesome. In any case, he mentioned a TEDx talk that he had had done on the topic of procrastination. I immediately thought of you all wonderfully gifted procrastinators out there (ha!) and wanted to be sure that I share it. I think we are all guilty of it at one time or another, and this talk provides some wonderful insights. Check it out when you have a moment!
Cheers to fewer moments of procrastination as well as a wonderful and productive week!

FSI Teaching Fellows
Application Deadline: March 4th
The Freshman Scholars Institute (FSI) is an intensive seven-week summer program for invited incoming first-year students, hosted by Princeton’s Emma Bloomberg Center for Access and Opportunity. In 2022, in response to incoming students’ different needs, FSI will be offered both in-person and online.
Online Teaching Fellows for FSI Online come from a range of disciplines to teach “Ways of Knowing” (WOK), an innovative, interdisciplinary critical thinking, reading, and writing course. Under the guidance of the Associate Director and the Academic Coordinator, Online Teaching Fellows will work closely with their colleagues to provide students with mentorship and to teach them the skills necessary to prepare them to be young scholars at Princeton.
FSI Ways of Knowing (WOK) Course Fellow
Application Deadline: March 4th
Course Fellows are experienced peer learners who work with students enrolled in HUM/STC 250 Ways of Knowing. Fellows facilitate students’ examination of course texts and assist students in brainstorming their own analytic responses to these texts. In particular, Course Fellows help introduce students to critical reading, thinking, and writing methods, as well as strategies for successfully approaching complex written assignments. Each Course Fellow will be embedded in a section of Ways of Knowing, receiving mentorship and guidance from the Ways of Knowing instructor. Fellows will work consistently with students in that section, facilitating small group text labs and, occasionally, leading individual conferences. Fellows will receive training from the Freshman Scholars Institute staff and attend weekly text lab prep sessions.
