Western Tech Mural Unveiling Celebration 2022 "Our Cultures Color The World"

5 years ago, the students of Spanish Honor Society and National Art Honor Society wanted to paint a new mural showing the many cultures that our community represents. Fast forward to the 2021-2022 school year, where the NAHS and SHH chapters decided to make this long time dream become a reality.

With the approval of our Principal Ralph, the mural project was a go! NAHS President Kenna Costello and NAHS Senior member Thalia Anora led and collaborated on a new design that showcased the numerous cultures our Western student community consists of, as well as adding an environmental element to tie in one of the passions of Western Tech.

Sketch Design and Final Sketch Design

Using vintage maps as inspiration, we drew up a design that showcased how the world's people are what give it its vibrancy, showing how "our cultures color the world." We included scenes from various cultures as well as flowers native to different areas across the world to give all students the chance to be represented through artwork.
