Dear Mom,
Did you know that texting and driving is illegal in 39 states- including California? People should not text and drive because it can cause injuries and fatalities. When you text and drive with your family in the car, you could put the entire family in harm’s way. I strongly recommend that after reading this letter you consider the horrific consequences of texting while driving and try to make a change.
Already this year, one million people were in car accidents because of texting while driving. When you text while you drive, you are more likely to get into a severe car crash. What if you get into a crash when your family is in the car? It is possible to put your family in harm’s way just by texting while operating your vehicle. You could jeopardize your family’s live’s as well as yours.
Finally, I will give you some examples of how you can make texting while driving safer. Since you have the iPhone X, you can launch Siri and tell her to send a message. When you do this, you don’t have to take your eyes off of the road. In 2009, 5,870 people died because of texting while driving. Do you want to be that person?
Thank you mom for listening and keeping our family safe. Sophia
