Week 2 - term 2a

This week we have been thinking about journeys - we thought back to the start of Ahmet (the main character in The boy at the back of the class) and his journey to Britain from Syria. We had a think about why people leave their homelands and the sacrifices they make in order to move somewhere else in the world.

We looked at some images of migrants making the very dangerous journey across the English Channel and then applied the same thinking to the fist Anglo-Saxon’s who crossed the North Sea in 410AD.

In art, we are again working with Miss Hyde. This half term we are going to make an Anglo Saxon brooch. In history, we will be looking at the Anglo-Saxon period and in geography, we will be interpreting graphs and thinking about what made Britain an appealing destination for the Anglo-Saxons.
