SN Bose Physicist

Satyendra Nath Bose was born January 1st 1894 in Kolkata, India. He is most well known for working with Albert Einstein and theorizing one of two basic subatomic particles, The Boson Particle nicknamed the 'God particle'. Much of the credit for this particle has been credited to a British scientist Peter Higgs who received a Nobel prize for the discovery of the 'Higgs Boson Particle' in 2013 even though in reality, it was Bose who discovered it.

Boson Particle

The world is made up of atoms, particles, and subatomic particles. Although this is a common fact in the 21st century, this was just a theory in the early 1900's because there was a missing piece. Physicists had theorized particles and subatomic particles but none of this was fact yet because there was no proof on what gave particles mass. The Boson Particle is theorized to give particles mass through a grid system. They sit as a grid inside atoms and both particles and subatomic particles pass through the grid of Boson Particles in order to gain mass.

Early Life

Bose was born the eldest of 7 children whilst also being the only boy. At an early age his family could see he was a genius. He passed the entrance exam to The Hindu School, which is one of ideas oldest schools, standing 5th in the order of merit. He then went on to attend Presidency School where he received a bachelors of science in mixed mathematics in 1913. He also earned a masters in science at Colcatta University in 1915. He passed with such high exam scores for both degrees that not only did he come out as first in his class, he created a new test score record that has yet to be surpassed.

post schooling

After earning two degrees in science Bose went on to be a research scholar at Colcatta University in 1916. In 1921 Bose was offered a job in the physics department at the University of Dhaka where he also studied physics and gave lectures. Years later Bose traveled to Europe to work with Albert Einstein where Einstein adopted Bose's idea of a 'God particle' and extended it to atoms. After working with Einstein Bose traveled back to Dhaka University where he studied a variety of other subjects and gave physics lectures.

Satyendra Bose died in 1975 in Colcatta, India where he spent the majority of his life studying physics. He was a physicist who made key discovery's in the science community through out his lifetime. Though much of the credit for theorizing the Boson particle was given to Peter Higgs, Bose made history in both science and for people of color. He showed that people other than white men can make history and become extraordinary scientists.
