Swine Flu Chain of infection

Swine Flu is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza that cause outbreaks in pigs regularly.

Swine flu is considered a "variant virus" because it normally circulates in pigs and not people.

This influenza commonly occurs in people exposed to infected pigs, or person to person.

Anyone coming in contact with an infected person is at risk

People having bad hygiene (not washing hands puts you at risk)

Children and Young adults are at higher risk

Symptoms

Like regular flu symptoms, things like fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue, diarrhea and vomiting.

These symptoms can also be caused by many other things, meaning your doctor can't know, based on symptoms, if you've got swine flu.

Treatments

best treatment for influenza infections in humans is prevention by vaccination

Treatment is largely supportive and consists of bedrest, increased fluid consumption, cough suppressants, and antipyretics and analgesics

susceptible to the prescription antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir.
