Futures for Somerset worked with Haygrove School to develop a successful bid to the Education Funding Agency for a replacement Music Accommodation Block. The Academy’s existing music accommodation was found to be in poor condition and provided poor quality space for teaching. The new building has been designed to provide a modern, fresh, high quality music facility, on a limited budget.

FfS worked with the Haygrove School from an early stage to identify this strategically important project, secure funding and subsequently to provide project management, procurement and Employer’s Agent services to deliver the project using a local supply chain. Futures for Somerset appointed NVB Architect’s to work with them in developing a solution that met and exceeded the schools expectations within the available funding.

The music accommodation block cost c. £700,000 and features a number of high quality teaching, practice and recording spaces. The project had to overcome a number of site constraints including difficult site access and working within a very constrained site area. The school remained fully operational within close proximity to the site throughout.
