Macbeth

Macbeth was confused about what the witches were talking about,and wants to know what they mean.

"Into the air, and what seemed corporal melted as breath into the wind. Would they have stayed!" act 1, scene 3, lines 81-82

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth asks for a more manly personality. She questions Macbeth's manhood when he thinks about not killing Duncan.

" But screw your courage to the sticking-place and well not fail" Act 1 Scene 7 Lines 60-61

Macbeth

Macbeth is feeling guilty about wanting to kill the king.

"is this a dagger which i see before me, the handle toward my hand? come let me clutch thee" Act 2 Scene 1 lines 33-34

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth tries to take charge after Macbeth kills the king.

"The sleeping and the dead are but as pictures"

"Go get some water, and wash this filthy witness from your hand" Scene 2 Lines 52-53

Macbeth

He is king now, but he feels threatened by Banquo and his kin.

"Tis better thee without than he within . is he dispatched?" Act 3 Scene 4 Lines 15-16

Lady Macbeth

Macbeth is not telling Lady Macbeth anything.

"Are you a man?" "Fie for shame!" Scene 4 Lines 57-58 and 74

Macbeth

Banquo's son has escaped the murders that was sent to kill him. Macbeth seeks guidance from the whitches

"Unfix his earth-bound root? Sweet bodyments, good! Rebellious dead, rise never, till the Wood Of Birnam rise, and our high-placed Macbeth shall live the lease of nature" Act 4 Scene 1 Line 96-99

Macbeth

He believes that he won't die because of what the witches have told him, but learns Macduff is the one who will kill him

"I will not yield to kiss the ground before young Malcom's feet, and to be baited with the rabble's curse" Act 5 Scene 8 Line 28-29

Lady Macbeth

Lady Macbeth kills herself.

"What will these hands ever be clean" Act Scene 1 37-38
