Photographing people is a really exciting thing to do, I find I go out to the photoshoot with ideas in my mind. I have a theme and location planned, but I always try and keep the ideas flexible.
I find every time I meet the model and their personality comes into play, the photoshoot evolves into so much more and always exceeds my expectations.
I've never worked with professional models. I photograph friends or friends of friends, people I meet who just spark my creativity.
When I first meet people my mind jumps to photography ideas, like they'd make a good ballet dancer, or boxer, etc. and if the idea is persistent enough I'll eventually ask them.
