The Viking View The NJH PTO Newsletter - Week of May 8

north junior high pto works to:

Support Students | Appreciate Educators | Create Community | Sponsor Fun

Tonight is the last PTO Meeting of the school year!

Tonight (Monday, May 8) is the last PTO meeting of the year. We'll meet in the North cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. and the agenda includes a review our strategic plan to see how we did this year, electing officers for next year, and updates on Team Days, Freshman Farewell and the Summer Send-Off Ice Cream Social. Come see how you can be a part of PTO!

Spring Fling Disco Dance recap

The Spring Fling Disco Dance was a big hit! There was great attendance and the students had so much fun. Thank you so much to Ms. Lyngar/AVID for sponsoring the dance; parents for chaperoning (double gold stars for parent chaperones!), buying decorations off the Amazon wishlist, and providing snacks; teachers and staff for cooking hot dogs and spending their Friday night grooving at North Junior High.

Teacher Appreciation Week

May 8 - 12 is Teacher Appreciation Week!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Here are some ways you can let our North teachers know they're the best: donate to the Boise Public Schools Foundation Thank-a-Teacher Fund (be sure to designate the teacher's name in the instructions), check with the teacher to see if they have an Amazon Wish List, send them a nice note (you can find the staff directory here). PTO will use funds from The Big Give to cater a Mediterranean lunch for our teachers and staff on Friday, May 12.

SUMMER SEND-OFF ice cream social

Sign ups are live for the Summer Send-Off Ice Cream social! Click here to register. We'll be scooping out Goody's ice cream in the field behind North (NOT at Goody's!!) on Friday, May 19, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. The ice cream is free and you do not have to register to attend, but it would be really helpful if you could let us know (via Eventbrite) that you're coming so we'll have the right amount of ice cream. All North teachers, students and their families are welcome. Please spread the word to other North families!

team days!

Team Days are going to be a blast! The day will start with the Talent Show, then the teams will head out for their activities. After lunch, everyone will reconvene to sign yearbooks.
