Hello Parents!! I cannot believe today is the Eve of February 1st! 2022 is already flying by! We continue to have staff and students experiencing close contacts to individuals with COVID-19. While the number of cases have drastically decreased, please encourage your student to wear a mask if they are willing to do so. As a reminder, if you or your student received their last COVID-19 vaccination more than 6 months ago, the booster shot is available. Some important dates to mark on your calendar are as follows: February 4th and 21st—Student Holidays and March 14th - 18th—Spring Break.

Hola Padres!! ¡No puedo creer que hoy sea la víspera del 1 de febrero! ¡El 2022 ya se pasa volando! Continuamos teniendo personal y estudiantes que experimentan contactos cercanos con personas con COVID-19. Si bien la cantidad de casos ha disminuido drásticamente, anime a su estudiante a usar una máscara si está dispuesto a hacerlo. Como recordatorio, si usted o su estudiante recibieron su última vacuna contra el COVID-19 hace más de 6 meses, la vacuna de refuerzo está disponible. Algunas fechas importantes para marcar en su calendario son las siguientes: 4 y 21 de febrero: vacaciones para estudiantes y 14 al 18 de marzo: vacaciones de primavera.

GETTING TO KNOW THE STAFF

Mr. Matt Bostick graduated college at Texas Christian University where he studied Business and Literature. In his spare time, he enjoys playing chess, disc golf, and reading. At home, he has two greyhounds Isabel who is 15 years old, and Una who is 3 years old. The most exciting adventure Mr. Matt has been on is being married. Mr. Matt’s favorite color is cerulean, his favorite food is fried guinea pig, his favorite season is monsoon, his favorite tv show is Poirot, and his favorite movie is Dark City. If he was to describe himself in three words they would be expectant, compostable, and alienated. The most fulfilling part of his job is knowing a student has learned what he has taught them.

Ms. Christina Sutton graduated college at Texas Women’s University where she studied Interdisciplinary studies with a minor in Education. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, swimming, and playing games with her kids. Ms. Christina has four dogs and their names are Serenity, Trik, Chase, and Jake. For Ms. Christina, the most exciting adventure she has been on Is between traveling to England, Italy, Greece, and Belize and her trip to Walt Disney World with her kids. Two things that are on her bucket list are to go to Venice Italy before it is gone and to go to Las Vegas. Ms. Christina’s favorite color is any shade of purple, her favorite food is creamy mac and cheese, her favorite season is Autumn/Fall, her all-time favorite tv show is Full House/My Hero Academia and her favorite movie is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. If she was to describe herself in three words they would be Compassionate, Flexible, and Caring. Ms. Christina wants her legacy to be that she was part of the good that is in the world. The most fulfilling part of her job is the positive impact she has on the lives of others.

Ms. Kelsey Snodgrass graduated from Baylor University where she studied Biology and Chemistry. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, jeeping, traveling, hiking, kayaking, biking, wakeboarding, diving/scuba, yoga/Pilates, reading, baking, learning, and spending time with her friends, family, and animals. At home, she has a dog named Ozzy and a Cat named Frida. The most exciting adventure she has been on is when she visited Maui, Hawaii. Two things that are on her bucket list are diving the Great Barrier Reef and experiencing as many National Parks as possible. Her favorite color is teal, her favorite food is chocolate, her favorite season is spring, her favorite tv show is New Girl, and her favorite movie is Amelie. If she was to describe herself in three words they would be eclectic, adventurous, and funny. Ms. Kelsey wants her legacy to be that she was always there to lend a hand to anyone and show them love and kindness. The most fulfilling part of her job is teaching kids how to be curious and explore.

TELEHEALTH SERVICES – COVID 19 SCREENING AND TESTING

In efforts to reduce COVID-19 spread, the Fort Worth ISD has partnered with Virtual Care for Kids and Families to offer students and their families telehealth services. Students can see a Texas-based pediatrician or family provider within minutes from home virtually via computer, smartphone or tablet for urgent care services including minor colds, the flu, sore throat, cough, ear concerns, headaches, sinus or allergy issues or pink eye. Additionally, Virtual Care for Kids and Families is offering coronavirus screening and testing in English and Spanish. Students must be registered prior to receiving the service; please Visit https://urgentcarekids.com/fwisd/ to register your child for services. Virtual Care for Kids and Families has expanded their partnership to better serve the entire Fort Worth ISD community and stop the spread of COVID-19 by making screening and testing available for parents and FWISD staff. To get started on a visit please visit www.virtualcarefamilies.com. Secure, two-way videoconference services are available from 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week and are free for families with Medicaid. A discounted self-pay rate of $50 is available for families without insurance, and co-pays are waived for insured families. FWISD is NOT responsible for the cost of treatment provided in this program. All costs will be paid by your health insurance company and you.
