Newton's first law of motion is the state of motion of an object doesn't change as long as the net force acting on the object is zero. In basketball, when you would roll a basketball down half of the court would only be when you wanted to not waste time off the clock, and strategically score in a short amount of time.
Newton's second law of motion is the acceleration of an object is equal to the net force acting on it divided by the object's mass. In basketball when throwing the ball down the court when there isn't enough time to throw it in and then transition the ball down the court.
Newton's third law of motion is whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object. In basketball, this is when the basketball is acting upon where the ball hits the backboard and or ground.
The equation for momentum is p=mv.
