The cause of illegal dumping is not have a good sanitation company that removes waste and the people not finding a area where waste can be disposed. The effects are poor sanitation in an area, diseases plaguing the town or area the air is not clean and a lot of pollution.
I interviewed sam* and he told me that in his neighborhood the illegal dumping there is so bad that children are now getting sick and the air they breathe is very filthy and stinks. He says that that neighborhood is not the right place to raise a child.
Sam* is still in school in grade 12 and lives in an informal settlement his father is unemployed and his mother works as a nurse at a local clinic. H goes to the same church as me and he has to pass an illegal dumping site when he goes to church. He comes form a poor family.
THESE ARE MY SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS. - The community must for one day clean the area. - The community can reuse somethings. - The community can remake some or make new things out of the trash because one man trash is another mans treasure
THESE ARE MY LONG TERM SOLUTIONS - The government can give a business a tender so the rubbish can be removed. - The police can monitor the area and arrest those who dump the trash illegally. - The government can make a rule where people who dump illegally can be fined.
