Mule Weekly Recap February 22, 2021

John Connors '21
"The new pool is awesome. Not only is it faster, but it keeps us warm and comfortable the entire session, allowing us to maximize our performance. The size allows us to stay distanced during COVID and still get the most out of practice. I'm currently focused on getting stronger as well as developing my immediate explosive power, setting myself up to hopefully break 20 in the 50 free. Being on the swim team right now allows me to have a mental break from a lot that's happening in the world, school, and in my life."
Alisha Aube '22
"The extra time with the team has given us the time to work on the fundamentals and building chemistry as a team on the court. Practices have been energetic, upbeat, and highly focused, putting in the work, with everyone determined to be ready for whatever this year holds. We are all thriving, using our basketball IQ and making some great plays."
Carter Breitenfeldt '23
"I am thankful for being back on campus with all of the boys. Even though there is no NESCAC season, it's pretty special to still be able to train and practice all together in the new top-notch facilities whenever we like."
Christina Speliakos '22
"Over the past few weeks we have taken a few steps back in order to break down every element of our event, for me its the triple jump. All of the jumpers have been working together alongside our coach in order to piece together the jumps to improve overall technique. I am really excited to see how we progress!"
Alec McGovern '23
"This year has really helped me to focus on the areas of my game that I had previously neglected or hadn't focused enough on. With the amazing opportunity that Colby is providing us, our team can focus extra time in the weight room, on the court, and even in recovery. We have developed closer relationships on and off the court and the experience we are getting to play together has helped this team immensely."
Lily Von Stade '21
“Recently, we have been focusing on a lot of skill work as well as beginning to work on systems and more team-oriented drills as we remain prepared to perform. January allowed us to work in smaller groups but it has been so nice to be back with the whole team on the ice, and we are so grateful that we have the opportunity to do so.”
Will Solow '22
"The Nordic team has been so lucky to train together this winter in a season like no other. Coach Cote has worked so hard to give us the opportunity to train together whenever possible, and we are incredibly thankful for that. With everything that has been different this year, it has been a real blessing to come together as a team and face the challenges brought on by the pandemic together."
Cassie Lieblein '23
"After a long time away, its great to be back with my teammates and training together. Sugarloaf is the perfect spot for us to make the changes in practice that will make us faster skiers. I’m working on being consistent and quick with my pole plant after blocking the gate. This helps with stability as I transfer weight to my new ski which lets me link up short, clean arcs above the gate."
